Social Media Director and Executive Board Member of the UNLV Car Club, Seth Matteson

Matteson chosen as he is the central hub of the club, being the primary contact at the UNLV Involvement Center and running the club’s Instagram. This media platform has been essential is sharing events and building a community with nearly 700 followers.

Story 2:

UNLV Car Club member and 2019 Hyundai Veloster owner, Gabriel Esguerra

Esguerra was chosen as he drives a fairly uncommon car in the car community in terms of modification, shedding a light on what it’s like to drive something that others don’t choose to collect. Stigmas in the car community may see some cars as “traffic” or “pedestrian,” but most college students who are into cars don’t have the budget for something “desirable” in the eyes of the community. Being a part of the Car Club, he can highlight what car events look like to the uninitiated.

UNLV Biology Major and 1965 Mustang owner, Jed Basilio

Basilio was chosen as he is not a part of the UNLV Car Club, but has been a part Team Tekito in the past, a car club that collaborates frequently with the community and with the UNLV Car Club. Not being a part of the club, he can shed light on why someone wouldn't want to join a club.
